Christine Brown, Chief Operating Officer of Robinhood, said in an email to Coindesk that "Crypto gifting is a great way for our customers to help remove the emotional and economic barrier of their friends and family taking their first step into the world of digital currency." It is an easy gift for those who are already fans of the digital currency.
Users in Nevada and Hawaii will not be able to share digital gift cards with one another until December 22. The gifted money can be taken away from the recipient.
Users have 14 days to accept a gift in the app. To claim a gift, new customers need to download the app and sign up for an account. Gifts can be as small as $1 and can be picked from seven different currencies.
Cash App recently announced a new feature that allows users to send fractional shares of stock and currency to other users.
