The Last A380 Delivered to Emirates

Today is a sad day for A380 fans, as the last A380 was delivered to a customer. There are 251 A380s built.

The new aircraft is the 123rd A380 jet. It is the last A380 to join the fleet.

The A380 has captured imaginations, generated excitement, and attracted traveller preference for its quiet, spacious and comfortable interiors.

The first A380 flight took off from Toulouse on April 27, 2005.

There are no celebrations planned.

The situation in Germany made it difficult to host an event after the idea of celebrating the end of a program was rejected by Airbus.

This is not a funeral, this is the last of these great airplanes and it has real life and legs for us. The A380 will be flying for 14 to 15 years before we retire them.

The A380 aircraft is a tribute.

The A380 is a truly special aircraft according to Sir Tim Clark. It gave us the opportunity to redefine the travel experience, efficiently serve demand at slot-constrained airports, and bolster our network growth. The A380 will be the flagship product for the foreseeable future.

We would like to thank all of our programme partners for allowing us to push the envelope and deliver the best product for our customers.

The A380 has touched the lives of many passengers by setting new standards in terms of flying and travel experience. Guillaume Faury, the CEO of Airbus, said that he was confident that it would continue for decades with the introduction of new services and products by Emirates.

I would like to thank the biggest A380 operator in the world for their steadfast trust and partnership, and I would like to use this delivery milestone to warmly thank all of the teams that worked on the A380. Here's to many more happy landings!
