According to reports, France is going to ban travel to and from the UK on December 18.
The prime minister's office will make announcements regarding travellers from the UK in the next few hours, according to Gabriel Attal, a spokesman for the French government.
British people living in France will be the only ones allowed to come to France from Saturday.
Travelers will have to give a reason for entering the country. If a person arrives from the UK and shows a negative test, they will be isolated for 48 hours.
Hauliers will not be affected by the new ban.

Sky News reported that the ban on British tourists came amid concern over the rise in Omicron cases in the UK.
French nationals and their spouses are exempt from the new rules.
The Guardian quoted Attal as saying that the new policy was to tighten the net to slow down the arrival of Omicron cases in France and give time for the French vaccination booster campaign to gain more ground.

According to the Telegraph report, certain countries, such as the UK, are likely to have compulsory health checks.
