Apple postpones return to office indefinitely

Tim Cook told employees in an internal memo that Apple is postponing mandatory return to office until a "date yet to be determined". An Apple spokesman confirmed the company's decision to the outlet that published the contents of the memo.

The Omicron Covid-19 variant is driving cases up in the U.S. and many other countries.

The start of the hybrid work pilot is being delayed. Cook wrote in the memo that the offices remain open and that many of their colleagues are coming in regularly. Cook encouraged employees to get vaccinations.

Cook said in the memo that the company would give all of its employees a $1,000 bonus. Cook said that the funds were intended to help you with your home workspace.

When Apple employees return to work, they will have to come on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, while working from home on Wednesdays and Fridays.

In the past year, Apple has put off its return to the office many times. The company shut down three retail stores in December due to rising Covid-19 cases among employees.
