Josh Lambo, the team's former kicker, alleged that Urban Meyer kicked him during warm-ups.
Lambo told Rick that he was in a lunge position. "Left leg forward, right leg back." Urban Meyer came up to me and said, "Hey Dips, make your f--king kicks!" And kicks me in the leg.
Lambo said he confronted Meyer about it.
It wasn't as hard as he could've done, but it wasn't a love tap. I would register it as a five. I don't care if it's football or not, the boss can't hit an employee. I couldn't believe it actually happened. Don't kick me again, I said. He said he would kick you whenever he wanted.
The preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys was the reason for the kick.
Lambo said his agent reported it to the team's legal counsel, but he doesn't remember being offered a chance to meet with the counsel. The team's legal counsel told Stroud that it offered to speak with Lambo and that any suggestion otherwise is blatantly false.
Meyer denied Lambo's version of events, saying "Josh's characterization of me and this incident is completely inaccurate, and there are eyewitnesses to refute his account." I was supportive of Josh during his time with the team and wish him the best.
In Meyer's first season, the Jags have a 2-11 record. The supposed franchise quarterback and top overall pick of the 2021, has just nine touchdown passes.
The team's play on the field is not the only thing that has caused turmoil around Meyer.
In October, videos with a woman dancing against him at a bar spread across social media. His wife was babysitting at the time. He made waves by staying in Ohio and not flying back with the team after a loss.
The conduct was "inexcusable" and meant that Meyer had to regain the trust of the team.
Michael Silver reported that a player said that Meyer had no credibility in that stadium. He had very little to begin with.
Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reported on Saturday that months of tension surrounding Jacksonville coach Urban Meyer has boiled over with multiple run-ins with players and other coaches.
There was a heated argument between the coach and Marvin Jones. The head coach of the Los Angeles Rams did not treat his players like adults after the game, according to a number of players.
Several people informed of the contents of the meeting said that Meyer told his assistant coaches that he was a winner and challenged them to explain when they've ever won.
Lambo kicked for the San Diego Chargers and the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was released from Jacksonville after he missed three field goals.
The free agent made all five of his field goal attempts in four games last year.
