Marvin Jones Jr. was a potential elite pass-rusher.

The 5-star football prospect decided to play football for Georgia over other prestigious programs such as Alabama and Florida State.

Jones is the 22nd ranked player in the recruiting class of 2022, and the 2nd edge and 4th player from the state of Florida.

Jones, the son of a New York Jets player, has excelled at the high school level.

He finished with 13 sacks, 14 tackles for loss and 55 tackles in 2020 as a pass-rusher.

His numbers were not as good as they were in the previous year, but he showed moreVersatility in being a stand-up pass-rusher from the edge.

Jones has good size for an outside rusher at 6'412 and 245 pounds, and should have no trouble transitioning to the collegiate level from a physical standpoint.

Andrew Ivins, the Southeast recruiting analyst for the website, has compared Jones to current and former University of Washington pass-rusher Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, who has three sacks as a first-round pick.

Kirby Smart is one of the best defensive minds in college football, and he has recruited at a high level because of it.

With Smart at the controls, the Dogs have the lowest points allowed per game in the nation.

Jones could help keep Georgia's defensive dominance and keep the team in national championship contention.
