The Florida Gators football team plays on December 15, 2021.

Wilson chose Florida on Wednesday after taking an official visit to the school this past weekend, according to a report.

Wilson is ranked second among safeties in his class and fifth overall from Florida, according to the rankings.
Georgia, Texas A&M, Alabama and Notre Dame were some of the schools Wilson received offers from. He chose the Gators because they have added a potentially dominant force in their secondary.

Wilson racked up 114 tackles, five interceptions, and five touchdown in his sophomore year at Westwood High School.

He decided to transfer to the academy before the 2020 season.

Jon Santucci of Treasure Coast Newspapers reported that Wilson said it was a tough decision.

I wanted to stay with the football team. I need to succeed academically, and I will get the help I need from IMG. I don't have to worry about that. I can just focus on school and football.

He mentioned academics as a reason for moving.

Wilson said that his grades got him thinking about transferring.

I had some C's during the third quarter because I had some struggles staying focused, but I'm a 3.2 student and I had some C's. I don't think that will be a problem for me. I will have tutors for every class, and I think that will help a lot.

Wilson played at the academy. He excelled at the Future 50 event in the summer of 2021.

Wilson was heavily tipped to play at Georgia at one time, with many of the 247Sports prognosticators projecting as much.

Wilson will head to Florida, which went 6-6) in the same year.

Billy Napier is the new leader of the Gators in 2022.
Adding a player like Wilson is a huge deal for Napier as he looks to establish himself in the SEC and in the state of Florida.
