Apple has closed three of its retail stores due to increased COVID-19 exposure among employees.

The stores located in the Brickell City Centre in Miami will be closed for a while. The Miami store is closed until Friday and the other stores are closed until Saturday. The Apple store in Texas was closed last week due to the COVID-19 outbreak, though the company website currently indicates that the store is open.

The infections are on the rise. The omicron variant is beginning to spread, but the delta variant is still the main variant in the US, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. On Tuesday, Apple once again began requiring customers to wear masks.

An Apple spokesman said in a statement that the company regularly monitors conditions and will adjust its health measures to support the wellbeing of customers and employees. We are committed to a comprehensive approach for our teams that combines regular testing with daily health checks, employee and customer masking, deep cleaning and paid sick leave. Employees at the closed stores will have to be tested.
