New York University and Princeton University are the latest colleges to announce they will cancel year-end school events and move exams online because of a coronaviruses surge on campus.

The NYU community had a noticeable increase in Covid-19 cases this week, according to a letter released by the university.
NYU is encouraging teachers to move exams online and is asking the community to cancel all non-essential events.
The dean of the university said in a memo to students that there has been an increase in Covid-19 cases among undergraduates this week.
The exams will be moved online on Thursday, and the university groups are being asked to cancel indoor gatherings with food and other events because it is difficult to keep a mask on until January 7.
Cornell University said Tuesday it would close facilities, move exams online and cancel school activities after identifying a significant number of omicron Covid-19 cases among the student population on Monday.
The states where the schools are located, New York and New Jersey, have reported a huge spike in Covid-19 cases in early December, and the case counts in both states are rapidly nearing record high numbers. New Jersey confirmed 3,524 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, up from 2,525 the week before.
There is a percentage of 13%. The CDC estimates how many Covid-19 cases there are in New York and New Jersey.

Students and staff at New York University will have to get a booster shot by January 18. Georgetown University and Brown University will require students and staff to get booster shots in January.
