The world's richest man had yet another temper tantrum yesterday when a US lawmaker suggested that he should pay taxes.
On Tuesday, Musk raged at Senator Elizabeth Warren after she said that the person of the year should pay taxes.
Not one to take a slight from a public figure lightly, the billionaire fired back.
"Stop projecting!" Musk linked to an article about Warren misrepresenting herself early in her career as having Native American heritage, which she later apologized for. He said that she reminded him of his childhood friend's angry mom who would randomly yell at everyone.
He asked Karen to not call the manager on him.
The CEO of the company sent two more messages to her, suggesting that Warren had gotten underneath his skin.
If you opened your eyes for two seconds, you would see that I will pay more taxes than any American in history. An investigation published this year by ProPublica found that Musk paid no federal income tax in spite of being worth $297 billion.
An Insider report found that Musk doesn't want the government to touch his wealth, despite the fact that he relies on lucrative federal contracts to keep his company afloat and benefits greatly from subsidies to his electric vehicle company.
Warren definitely took the shot at Musk first. He is within his right to respond to the progressive firebrand, but it is hard to see how he could be defensive to the point of embarrassment.
It is clear that Musk is willing to go to extreme lengths to fight back against taxes.
Fans of Musk are angry that he was mean to the man.
