According to a Financial Times report, Musk said that he thinks there's no other CEO in the world who pays as much attention to safety as he does.
Musk was named Person of the Year by the Financial Times for 2021, days after Time magazine named him its Person of the Year for his commitment to space exploration and the environment.
In an interview with the Financial Times, Musk said he has not misled or risked the safety of the owners of the company's self-driving assistance software.

Musk said that NASA's use of SpaceX rockets to send its own astronauts into space proves that he focuses on safety.
"I don't think there's a CEO on this planet that cares more about safety than me," he said.
The biggest NASA contract so far has been the lunar launch contract, which involved Musk's company beating out Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin.
Although safety risks have mostly been taken care of by the company, there have been challenges.
The electric car company's self-driving software has come under fire for being involved in a number of car crashes. In August, the NHTSA opened an investigation into the driver-assist Autopilot of the electric car maker after 11 crashes in which it struck vehicles at first-responder scenes.
The name of the feature makes drivers think the car is self-sufficient when it isn't.
