Raiders vs. Browns Moving Forward as Planned Despite Cleveland's COVID-19 Outbreak

There is no plan to cancel or postpone the Cleveland and Las Vegas Raiders game on Saturday.

The game's status has not been discussed, according to the NFL.

On Tuesday, the Browns entered into the NFL's enhanced COVID-19 mitigation protocols and placed eight players on the reserve/COVID-list list, including six active roster members.

The head coach of the Browns tested positive for COVID-19.

It is a bad time for Cleveland to be without some key players for the 4:30 p.m. game because only four weeks remain in the regular season.

Last week, the Cleveland Indians got their record back over.500 after they beat the Baltimore Ravens 24-22.

The Cleveland Indians moved to within one game of the Baltimore Orioles. One of the five teams in the AFC is tied with a 6-7 record.

If the season ended today, the Browns would not make the playoffs because they are tied for one of the final two wild-card spots.

Since the Raiders are only one game behind the Browns at 6-7, beating them on Saturday is even more important.

The most winnable game on Cleveland's schedule is a home date with Las Vegas, as the team must face the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers on the road before hosting the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 18.

There were a few games that were postponed last season because of COVID-19, but the league has been able to avoid that this season.

36 players were placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list because of positive tests for coronaviruses, which has been on the rise as of late.

The Raiders vs. Browns game is on as of now, but if more Cleveland players are placed on the COVID list, the league may have no choice but to delay the season.
