Coinbase investor and NBA star Kevin Durant deepens ties to crypto exchange with new promotion deal

Kevin Durant and his company Thirty Five Venture just signed a new multiyear deal with a criptocurrency platform.
As a prominent face of the brand, the Brooklyn Nets player will help promote the company across his various businesses. The first ad will air on Thursday.
In return, the company will give digital ads and sponsored content to his sports site Boardroom and give money to his youth programs.
The deal signals further growth in the relationship between the two companies. Thirty Five invested in a $100 million round of funding.
In October, the NBA and Coinbase signed a sponsorship deal.
Many high-profile sports collaborations have taken place in the digital-asset space. The Golden State Warriors signed an international deal with FTX after its franchise player, Stephen Curry, bought a $180,000 Bored Ape NFT.

In November, football player Tom Brady and football player Aaron Rodgers both said they would take a portion of their salaries in the form of digital currency.

The storiedStaples Center in Los Angeles is being renamed toCrypto.com Arena under a deal announced in November.
