The cricketer turned commentator was arrested.

Two months after an alleged domestic violence incident, former Australian cricketer Michael Slater has been charged with breaching a protective order.

The man was arrested in October in Australia and charged with stalking and harassment.

He was arrested again on Wednesday after sending 66 text messages and making 18 calls in violation of an apprehended violence order.

A court heard that Mr. Slater was receiving treatment.

The messages were described as offensive by a prosecutor. They were sent during a two-and-a-half hour window on Tuesday.

James McLoughlin told the court that his client had relapsed with alcohol.

The court granted bail to Mr Slater after he was told that he would not be able to use a mobile phone.

"If he violates his bail, he will be back in custody," said the court martial.

The former cricketer was part of the Australian cricket team from 1993 to 2001.

He was let go by Australia's Channel Seven earlier this year, but has since become a high-profile cricket commentator.
