Kevin Durant: 'Words Can't Describe' Pride in Nets After Win vs. Raptors

The Brooklyn Nets defeated the Toronto Raptors 131-129 on Tuesday.

He told reporters that he was proud of the team's ability to fight through adversity and respond with a win.

Brooklyn had just eight players available with so many in the league's health and safety protocols.

James Harden and Bruce Brown were placed in protocols by the Nets before the game. Many of the people who were available were put under a lot of pressure to play in the Eastern Conference clash.

David Duke Jr., David Duke, and Blake Griffin all played more than 30 minutes in the overtime win.

Nic Claxton, Cam Thomas, and Day'Ron Sharpe were some of the key contributors.

This was not the team the Nets were going to put on the court. The supporting cast was loaded with playoff-tested veterans, and the presence of three superstars made them a championship contender.

Irving is unvaccinated against COVID-19 so he is not playing this season. With Harden out, it was up to KD to lead the effort, and he responded with a triple-double of 34 points, 13 rebound and 11 assists.

Mills poured in 30 points, shooting 7-of-14 from deep, while Edwards had a double-double of 17 points and 10 boards, as the Hawks defeated the Pistons.

Brooklyn has the best record in the Eastern Conference at 20-8, but it could face a challenge if some of the players remain out. The Philadelphia 76ers are on Thursday, the Magic are on Saturday and the Nuggets are on Sunday.

The Nets will have a chance every night, even if they are short-handed, as long as they have a player like KD who plays like he did Tuesday.
