James Anderson and Stuart Broad haven't played a Test together since August.

The dates are 16 and 20 December.

The highlights show on the iPlayer, ball-by-ball commentary on Test Match Special, live text commentary, features and analysis on the website and app are included.

James Anderson and Stuart Broad are in England's 12-man squad for the second Test against Australia.

England's leading Test bowler was left out of the series opener, which ended in a nine-wicket defeat.

Mark Wood, a pace bowler, has been rested, while Jack Leach, a spinner, is in the squad.

The second Test will use a pink ball.

Anderson took 5-48 under the lights at the Adelaide Oval in the Test match between England and Australia.

Anderson said it was always frustrating to miss out on a Test but it was all about the big picture.

We have five Tests in a row so we are trying to keep guys fresh.

It shows how strong a squad we have when I and Stuart come back into the 12. We are focused on getting back in the series.

Wood took three for 85 in Australia's first dig at the Gabba, but he and England are managing a long-term ankle problem.

England's 12-player squad: Joe Root (capt), James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Rory Burns, Haseeb Hameed, Jack Leach, Dawid Malan, Ollie Pope, Ollie Robinson, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes.

Three of England's four day-night Tests have been lost and they were beaten by 120 runs in their last outing in Australia.

Despite the defeat, they were able to bowl Australia out for 138 in the second day under the lights.

"We've seen a lot of pink ball cricket at Adelaide and there has been times when the bowlers have been on top, but we've also seen batters get runs," Anderson said.

I've been working hard with the pink ball, trying to work out what works and what doesn't to try and get an edge on this week.

England's team will be decided before the toss, but selection is complicated.

The drop-in pitch is already looking dry as high temperatures are predicted for Friday.

Broad could miss out again, with Anderson replacing Wood, if England decides to use a spinner. The issue is the batting, with only Chris Woakes qualified to bat at eight.

Warner is fit for Australia.

David Warner spoke to George Bailey.

Jhye Richardson replaces Josh Hazlewood in the Australia side that beat England.

David Warner is fit to play despite picking up a rib injury.

Warner was struck by a Ben Stokes short ball while batting and was replaced by Alex Carey for Australia's short fourth-innings chase on the fourth day.

Warner's best Test score was 335 not out in a day-night match against Pakistan in Australia and he averages 62.23 on home soil.

Pat Cummins said that if Davey didn't feel like he could be as good as he normally is, he wouldn't be playing.

He's a little sore but he'll be fine. He had a bit of pain yesterday but was not going to miss this once he was used to it.

Richardson played two Tests against Sri Sri in 2019.

In his two Test appearances, he has taken six kills.

Australia have won all eight of their day-night Tests, including all five that have been played in the same city.

"We've got a bit of experience to lean on but when you start the match you can't see it playing out like a red ball game," Cummins said.

We are still learning the new format. It brings more unknowns.
