A federal judge ruled on Tuesday that the Treasury Department should not be prevented from handing over Donald Trump's tax returns.
Democrats have been looking for the returns since they regained control of the House of Representatives, claiming that they could show conflicts of interests or tax evasion, as well as reveal flaws in the IRS's auditing methods. The Treasury Department refused under Trump.
After President Joe Biden took office, the department agreed to comply with the request from the House Ways and Means Committee and hand over returns from 2015 to 2020.

The US District Judge wrote that his court couldn't accept the legal statements as true. Everyone agrees that Congress can get information from the Executive.
The US District Court for the District of Colombia has a judge named McFadden. Records show that McFadden donated to the Trump campaign.
The court's decision was welcomed by Richard Neal, the Ways and Means Committee Chairman.
Neal said in a statement that the law is on the committee's side. We are one step closer to being able to conduct more thorough oversight of the IRS's mandatory presidential audit program.
