The launch of NASA's James Webb Space Telescope has been delayed again.

The space observatory will be launched two days later than previously planned.
NASA officials said in a statement on Tuesday that the observatory and the launch vehicle system are working on a communication issue. The launch date will be pushed back to Friday, December 24. We will give more information about the new launch date on Friday.

NASA says that the new James Webb Space Telescope could fail.

Engineers at the Guiana Space Center in French Guiana stacked a new space telescope on top of the Ariane 5 rocket on Saturday.

Today's delay is the latest in a series of delays that have plagued the telescope, which was originally scheduled to launch in 2007. Three weeks ago, NASA reported a problem with the launch vehicle adapter, which caused the most recent delay.
