Curry broke the record in the first quarter against the Knicks, connecting on two of his first three 3-point attempts.

Curry reached the milestone in 791 games, 511 games quicker than Allen, who was in attendance at Madison Square Garden to witness the feat.

Reggie Miller was Curry's no. 2 choice and called the game.

Curry is considered to be the greatest shooter in NBA history, with a quick release and deep range. He holds the record for the most 3's made in a season with 402, as well as the average 3's made in a game with 3.7. He has led the Warriors to a 22-5 record so far this season, and has averaged 27.1 points on a career-high 5.4 3-point makes per game. The Warriors are the second-best odds to win the NBA championship behind the Brooklyn Nets, and he is the favorite to win his third NBA Most Valuable Player award.

The number is big.

22. Curry has made 10 or more 3-pointers in 10 games. According to Statmuse, no other player in NBA history has achieved the feat more than five times. Curry reached the figure six times.

Surprising fact.

Curry has a career 3-point average of 43.2%. Steve Kerr is the head coach of the Golden State Warriors and a former player. Curry's brother is a player for the Philadelphia 76ers.

"It's hard to imagine where this record will be when Curry retires,"Kerr said last Tuesday. He will destroy it. It's mind- numbing.
