NFTs are usually digital art and are a type of digital collectibles. When buyers purchase an NFT, they don't actually purchase the actual art, but the token that's connected to the art, which gets recorded to the block chain, to prove they own the piece.

The NFT market has exploded over the past year as buyers look to invest in speculative assets. Beeple's work sold for 69 million dollars at an auction in May 2021.

The average internet user is starting to pushback from NFTs.

Critics complain that some of the art made for NFTs is ugly. Many NFT projects consist of just a few original art assets which are combined via computer generation to create thousands of "unique" pieces. NFTs are seen as exploitative by some critics because they want to turn everything into a speculative asset like a stock. The majority of the industry is based on the energy-wasting Ethereum network, which is incredibly bad for the environment.

The Chakra NFT drop will include 6,880 different NFTs at a yet to be determined price, according to the website. The NFTs will be released on the Polygon network, which is more energy efficient than the Ethereum network.

It should be noted that the NFT project is not being worked on by Marvel. Stan Lee did create a character, but he wasn't involved with it.

NFTs seem to meet a lot of resistance as they spread. There's big money in the form of venture capitalists, brand marketers, and other wealthy techies who will push NFTs where they're not wanted.

True believers, hang in there. You will likely be seeing more of the NFTs.
