The game between the Hurricanes and Minnesota Wild has been canceled after four more players tested positive.

The league believed it could be an active transmission after the Hurricanes announced that they had positive tests for Jordan Staal, Ian Cole, and Steven Lorentz.

The four players will stay in Minnesota. Sebastian Aho, a Carolina trainer and two other people are still in Canada after testing positive. The Hurricanes were delayed in Minnesota because of the test results.

The Carolina Hurricanes played a game against the Flames on Thursday. The Flames were put on hold after six players and one staff member entered the COVID-19 protocol. Three more Flames players entered protocol on Tuesday.

The Canes and Flames are part of a rash of NHL teams.

The team is looking into a private medical flight so they can return to the United States after being in Canada for 14 days, sources told ESPN. The players have access to the equipment in their hotel rooms.

Since Sunday night, 23 players have been added to the NHL's protocol list.
