Sometimes you watch a trailer and just know it's special. This might be the first time you see a film in your life. The trailer for Everything Everywhere All at Once gives off that feeling of being right. You are not ready for it. We were not.
The team's second feature film after Swiss Army Man was written and directed by Daniels. This one seems similar to that film as it stars a Chinese American woman who can't seem to finish her taxes. Yeah. Yes. This is something to check out.
Holy shit, right? Being John Malkovich is Eternal sunshine of the Spotless Mind vibes. The supporting cast of the films Big Trouble in Little China, Obvious Child, and Jamie Lee Curtis are all genre actors. Not to mention its crazy story, which is about more than a woman trying to do her taxes. It almost feels like the live-action version of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is being made by the same person.
The trailer is jam-jacked in gorgeous visuals, weird oddities, and scenes that make you excited to see this film, which fans can first do at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. Everything Everywhere All at Once is the opening night film of the film festival and it will play on March 11. It is not possible to tell if a movie is a modern classic just from the trailer, but with these directors, that cast, and this story, obviously it has all that potential and a whole lot more.
The opening of Everything Everywhere All at Once is March 25.
