Since coming back from a calf injury, there is a divide on whether the Dallas Cowboys quarterback is in a slump.

Jerry Jones said on The Fan in Dallas that it was probably fair to say that the team was slumping. Our offense is definitely away from where it was five and six games ago, from the standpoint of production.

McCarthy was asked if quarterbacks can get in slumps.

I don't think a quarterback is having a slump. It's not the same in football. McCarthy said a lot of things go into it. I don't think he's in a slump. I think we can improve on things that have not gone the way we want. This week is focused on that. The staff and players went through the videos on Monday. We'll keep working. Sometimes it goes this way.

In the overtime of the game against New England, he injured his right calf and missed one game.

In the six games since his return, he has thrown eight touchdown passes and six interceptions while throwing for 1,568 yards. He had 16 touchdown passes and just four turnovers in his first six games, while throwing for 1,813 yards.

Jones and McCarthy agree that the quarterback is healthy.

McCarthy said that he's healthy. He's a little sore. He took a few hits in the game, but he's fine.

Even though he missed the last 11 games with an ankle injury, he was back on the practice field during the team activities and minicamp. He was out for 10 practices and all of the preseason games because of a strained right latissimus.

Jones told The Fan that he thinks Prescott trusts his body.

Jones said that he thinks he's playing smart in a lot of cases.

After the New England game, the Cowboys had a bye week and did not practice for two weeks before playing the Broncos. In the past six games, the Cowboys' offense has scored 13 touchdown, compared to 22 in the first six games.

He missed a lot of time in training camp because of his calf injury and some will say that his mechanics are off a little. Jones said on The Fan that his feet and motion weren't where they should be. I hear all that and that's been discussed, but is there merit to it? I don't think so. He will figure it out, just as he's had to do his entire career. That's the most important thing here. He takes it to the practice field and works on it. He's as good or better than anyone I've ever seen. He will mentally and physically rep this through.

The offensive struggles were put on the entire group by Moore. The running game has been affected by the knee injury suffered by the player. Tony Pollard did not play because of a foot injury. Tyron Smith will miss his fourth game of the season because of an ankle injury.

I don't know if I like the description of slumps. Moore said that sometimes you have better games than others. I think he's doing a great job. We need to play better as a group. I have to call it better. I think we have a great opportunity ahead of us.
