The Jacksonville Jaguars have a 2-11 record and are rumored to be in turmoil, so owner Shad Khan is going to take his time evaluating the performance of head coach Urban Meyer.

Khan told reporters Monday night that he doesn't like to make hasty decisions.

I want to do the right thing for the team. I want to do the right thing. That is more important than just acting like an emotion. We have a history of looking at the facts and doing the right thing.

Four years was the length of time Augustus Bradley was here. Doug Marrone was here for four years. It was wins and losses, but I'm going to reflect on that and do what's right for the team and the city.

The tension within the organization had "boiled over" because of conflicts involving the head coach, his players and members of his coaching staff, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL.com.

Meyer had a practice argument with wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr., when he was questioned by quarterback Trevor Lawrence about the benching of running back James Robinson in Week 13 and a tense staff meeting where he described his fellow coaches as "losers."

Meyer denied the interaction with Jones but admitted there was a meeting where he "got after" his assistant coaches.

The Jags lost 20-0 to the TennesseeTitans on Sunday.

Meyer decried the use of anonymous sources in his postgame press conference and denied describing his assistants as loser.

When things are going badly, what's the answer? Start leaking information? No. That's nonsense. That is garbage. I've been blessed. I haven't dealt with that. Did you hear what he said? What? No. We need to improve on offense and get our quarterback in a good position to succeed. Our focus is that.

"What someone's brother said, or someone said something else, that will occupy little of my time." If there is a source, that source is unemployed. If there is a source that is doing that.

After the team's Week 4 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Meyer stayed behind in Ohio and a woman who wasn't his wife was shown dancing on him in a bar.

Khan pointed out the coach's previous high-end success at the college level and referenced the lens through which he'll make a decision:

In the past, it was like the lowly Jaguars, and everyone left you alone. The scrutiny we have is different. How much of that is brought on ourselves, or how much is deserved? He won wherever he was. This is something he has never dealt with.

You can't deal with enemies when you win in football, you have to win again.

Meyer is unlikely to be fired before the end of the season. The Houston Texans will be the first of the four remaining games for the Jags, who have already been eliminated from playoff contention.

Meyer had success in the college ranks, going 187-32 with three national titles, but his first year in the NFL has been a flop.
