In February, Musk said that the company would start taking payments for car purchases in the future, but later backpedaled, saying the company would resume taking payments when thecryptocurrencies gets green.
Doge, or doge coin, is secured by a proof-of-work algorithm, but it is not the same as other PoW coins. Doge is more green than Bitcoin because it isn't as popular.
Musk said he owns Doge in October.
