airlines are being charged for allowing unvaccinated passengers into the country at the international airport in the capital of the country.
airlines will be fined $3,500 for every unvaccinated passenger they bring through the airport, as well as for any passenger who arrives with a positive PCR test, according to the company that operates the country's airports.
The new rules are in effect from Tuesday.
People arriving into the country must have a vaccine, a negative test, and fill out a health declaration form.
If people from other countries don't meet the requirements, they could be turned away from the airport, while people from other countries who don't meet the requirements have to stay.
The country has recorded 131,500 COVID-19 cases and just over 1,200 deaths since the beginning of the Pandemic.
It said on Friday that cases were recorded at the airport in 60 percent of the cases in the country over the last two weeks.
