Paper claiming a lack of evidence COVID-19 lockdowns work is retracted

We will update as we learn more about this evolving story.

There was a paper in Springer Nature that claimed that there was no evidence that lockdowns prevented deaths.

It is not clear what the notice says about the paper being withdrawn. The PDF of the paper is marked with the words "reTRACTED ARTICLE" but a link to the DOI that appeared on the page late in the evening has vanished.

The sleuthing efforts on COVID-19 studies have attracted worldwide attention, and one of the people who has been doing it is Gideon Meyerowitz-Katz.

The letter about the paper in Nature Scientific Reports that claimed to find no evidence that staying at home reduced Covid-19 deaths was published today.
