The 27 airmen were discharged on Friday because they had not been vaccined against Covid-19, and they did not seek religious or medical exemption for the same.

The individuals who were dismissed had served less than six years in the Air Force.

Vaccinations were one factor in 27 discharges, but there could have been more for some of them.

The Air Force had one of the earliest deadlines with all active-duty personnel having to be vaccined by November 2.
98%. The Department of the Air Force said that as of December 7, there were only a small percentage of active duty Air Force and Space Force members who had fully vaccine against Covid-19.

The Air Force has suspended 27 personnel for non-compliance, but a total of 1,060 members have refused vaccinations. It's not clear if all of these members will face the same action. There are 7,365 Air and Space Force members who are unvaccinated.
