Hard Rock To Buy The Mirage, Build Guitar-Shaped Hotel on Las Vegas Strip

The Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas will be acquired by Hard Rock International from MGM Resorts International.

Hard Rock is planning to build a guitar-shaped hotel in place of The Mirage, which has been on the Strip for over 30 years.

The Mirage Hotel and Casino's operating assets will be purchased by HRI in cash, subject to customary working capital adjustments. The Mirage will enter into a long-term lease agreement with a real-estate investment trust company for the land on which it currently sits.

Jim Allen, Chairman of HRI, said that they were honored to welcome The Mirage's 3,500 team members to the Hard Rock family. Hard Rock Las Vegas will be a fully integrated resort meetings, groups, tourists and casino guests from around the world.

The previous iteration of Las Vegas' Hard Rock Hotel & Casino was not involved with Hard Rock International prior to last year.

The old Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, which was located just off the Strip, closed in June 2020. When the right opportunity came along, HRI would bring its brand back to the Las Vegas Strip.
