Billionaire Launches Startup to Reprogram Human Gene Expression

The new company, called NewLimit, is headed by Brian Armstrong, the founder of the online payment company, and has the goal of greatly extending the human lifespan.

The two are working to stop aging in its tracks.

The press release states that NewLimit will start by deeply interrogating epigenetic drivers of aging and developing products that can regenerate tissues to treat specific patient populations.

The company will use machine learning models to understand how human cells change with age. NewLimit will develop therapies that could slow, halt, or reverse the process.

Despite decades of research, we have yet to find a fountain of youth, despite the fact that reversing the aging process has been a Holy Grail for scientists. NewLimit is willing to get started today even though it may take decades to achieve.

It is another example of billionaires trying to escape death by throwing money at the problem.

Jeff Bezos is a big investor in anti-aging technologies. Altos Labs is trying to reprogram genes to turn back the biological clock.

Not every billionaire is a fan. When it comes to anti-aging tech, the CEO of the company is very different. During an interview at The Wall Street Journal's CEO Council Summit last week, Musk said that it is important for us to die because most of the time people don't change their mind.

NewLimit wants to stop aging by assigning existing cells a new task.

We want to figure out a way to restore the potential we had when we were younger.

The science is still in its infancy, but the wealthy are still investing in things like NewLimit. The company raised over 100 million dollars.

Capital will not be the limiting factor for the next few years according to the statement.

It's not clear whether the company will be able to deliver on the lofty premise.

NewLimit is a company built to extend human health.

There is more on anti-aging.
