Paris 2024: Olympics opening ceremony to take place on the River Seine

The river route will be free in some areas.

The opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics will be held along the River Seine, with more than 600,000 expected.

More than 160 boats with athletes and officials from more than 200 countries will travel between Pont d'Austerlitz and Pont d'Iena bridges.

The ceremony will be held outside of the stadium.

The ceremony would be the most accessible in Olympic history.

The Olympics will be held from July to August.

Tony Estanguet, head of the committee, said that the Games is a once-in-a- lifetime experience.

We want people to feel it. The boats will pass along the landmarks of Paris - Notre Dame, the Orsay and Louvre museums, the Pont Neuf, the Grand Palais, the Eiffel.

The opening ceremony will be free for the first time, and not just in a stadium. It will be a popular event.

The upper parts of the river bank will be free, but the lower parts will be charged.

The closing ceremony will be held at the gardens and fountains of the Trocadero, overlooking the Eiffel Tower.
