The women's AP Top 25 was released on Monday and the University of Connecticut dropped four spots to 7.
The first game without sophomore star Paige Bueckers was a loss to Georgia Tech, and she is out for at least six weeks with a knee injury. The last time the Huskies were ranked this low was in 2007.
South Carolina was the unanimous top choice. There are 8 Maryland on Sunday. Four teams that were ranked in the top 10 this season have been beaten by the Gamecocks, who received all 30 votes from a national media panel. The Duke game is on Wednesday.

NC State was second in the poll. The best ranking ever for the Wildcats is fourth.
The two teams will play each other on Sunday in the Hall of Fame showcase. The Bears will play Michigan in the other game at the event in Connecticut, which will be a repeat of last season's NCAA tournament Sweet 16 game that the Bears won in overtime.
Despite their loss to Georgia Tech, the Huskies were able to bounce back and beat UCLA. Georgia Tech moved up to 18 in the poll after its win over Connecticut.

This week, North Carolina entered the poll for the first time since the preseason poll in 2015. The Tar Heels are one of 10 teams that are perfect. They haven't faced a Top 25 team yet, but they have been blowing past their opponents. The first chance for the team to play a ranked opponent will be on January 6.
When I was hired, I knew this program could be nationally prominent. This is a step in the right direction, as we are in pursuit of a national championship.
Colorado was bumped out of the poll by the Tar Heels one week after the Buffaloes entered the rankings. The final spot in the Top 25 was secured by North Carolina, who beat Colorado and Oklahoma by one point. Oregon State also fell out.

The game is between Tennessee and Stanford on Saturday. The Lady Vols will face the Cardinal in a top 10 game. Four games against ranked teams have already been played by the Cardinal.
