The Bulls' next two games have been put off because of the outbreak.

The NBA consulted with the Chicago Department of Public Health about the Pistons and Raptors game being pushed back.

The health and safety protocols for the Bulls have 10 players in them. They were at risk of not having enough players to hold a game. Stanley Johnson and Alfonso McKinnie were both granted hardship exemptions to sign with the team.

The first two games were postponed because of the COVID outbreak. There were several postponements last season due to vaccine shortages.

The NBA's high vaccination rate has allowed games to be played on schedule this season, despite the league seeing an increase of players in health and safety protocols. The CDC recommends that people who took a two-shot vaccine like Moderna or Pfizer get a booster six months after their initial shot, and those who received Johnson & Johnson get a booster two months after their initial shot.

The effectiveness of the vaccines waned over time at preventing infections, but they still work at stopping severe outcomes. The boosters are effective at preventing breakthrough infections.
