Many of you are still trying to find a new video game system, and we have done what we can to help. The PS 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S consoles are still in short supply a year after their debut.

In November, console hardware sales have fallen off by 38 percent compared to the same month in 2020, which is when the new PS4 and Xbox were launched, according to the retail sales tracker at the NPD Group.

Despite still-intense desire to obtain the systems, as well as the availability of a new version of Nintendo's console, that drop comes despite. The data shows that the new and old versions of the game sold 1.13 million units last month, including 550,000 in the week of Black Friday and Thanksgiving. It has topped sales charts for 35 of the last 36 months, and it is the system people can actually get.

There is a global chip shortage.

Mat Piscatella, an analyst with the NPD Group, confirmed in a twit that the Xbox Series family came in second in unit sales. The availability of the slightly less powerful and much cheaper Xbox Series S may suggest a way for people interested in next-gen gaming to get their hands on it, while the chip shortage may keep a tight hold on supplies.

Hardware dollar sales in the US fell by 38% compared to a year ago, leading to an overall 10% decline. Spending categories decreased when compared to November 2020.
