NHS Covid Pass extended to 12 to 15-year-olds for travel

The health secretary has confirmed that the Covid Pass will be extended to cover 12 to 15 year olds.

From Monday, the move will apply and will allow more people to prove their vaccine status for travel where it is needed, according to Sajid Javid.

The details of how the pass will be issued were not immediately clear. The i newspaper reported last week that it would be given in letter form.

The news will be welcomed by some families due to travel imminently who need proof of vaccination status to access certain areas or services overseas, and by those who are unsure about requirements for future travel.

Spain is one of the countries where most children in the age group will be denied access.

The second dose of the vaccine will be offered 12 weeks after the first, the government confirmed last month.

The second jab will be given eight weeks after the first one.

From today, the COVID Pass will be available to children as young as 12 years old for international travel.
