Paris Saint-Germain will have to win the competition the hard way after being drawn with Real Madrid in the redrawn round of 16.
The draw for the group stage of the European soccer competition has Real Madrid against Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United against Atletico-Man United.
The social reaction to the draw.
The tie of the round will see Real and Paris Saint-Germain face off over two legs in February and March of next year. The second draw saw them avoid a clash with Mauricio Pochettino's Paris Saint-Germain and Lionel Messi and the first meeting between the two clubs in the competition.
The most eye-catching ties of the round of 16 are the ones between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
With the controversy of the voided draw now behind them, the leading contender to win this season's Champions League can now start to plan their route to the final in Saint Petersburg on May 28. With the round of 16 now on the schedule, which clubs will make it through to the quarterfinals?
FC Salzburg is playing a game against the team from the other team, the team from the other city, the team from the other country, the team from the other city, the team from the other country, the team from the other city, the team from the other city, the team
Salzburg were spared a tie against the Reds because of the voided first draw, but they ended up with the Germans.
Salzburg, who finished second in Group G, will be huge favorites against the Germans, who won their group with six wins. Adeyemi, a 19-year-old forward, has scored four goals so far in this season's competition for Salzburg and will be looking to impress against his hometown club. The U.S. international is a key figure for Salzburg, having played in every game this season.
If Salzburg eliminate Bayern, it will be the biggest upset of the competition, bigger than Sheriff Tiraspol's group-stage win at Real Madrid. The team was the favorites to win the competition before the draw was made, but they will be even stronger now.
Who goes through? It's called the Bavarian city of Bayern Munich.
The draw had to be changed after a clerical error, but it was still a lot of drama.
Manchester City vs.Sporting CP.
The win against the German team was crucial in helping Sporting qualify for the round of 16. The team has exceeded expectations, but they are likely to be beaten comprehensively by City, who will exploit the Portuguese champions' defensive weaknesses.

In two games against the Dutch team, Sporting gave up nine goals. The tie will suit City and they will not have to worry about the threat of Pedro and Paulinho.
The only downside for City is that they will have to return to the same stadium where they lost to Lyon in the final stages of the 2020 season. There is nothing for City to worry about.
Who goes through? Manchester City.
The game is between Benfica and Ajax.
This will be an intriguing tie between two teams, one of which will be coached by Jesus, who sent Barcelona crashing out at the group stage. With all six games in Group C completed, it's no wonder that Ajax is the favourite to reach the quarterfinals.
The likes of Jan Vertonghen, Nicolas Otamendi, Joao Mario, and Rafa Silva are likely to be key men for Benfica. Darwin will test the team. Despite their reputation for fielding young sides, Ajax also have veterans who will play a big part in the outcome of the tie with the likes of Dusan Tadic and Daley Blind.
If the two players can keep Haller quiet over the two legs, Benfica will have the edge. Don't underestimate Benfica, it is a close tie to call.

The game is between Chelsea and Lille.
Play.
What's behind the sudden inability to stop their opponents from scoring is explained by Janusz.
It was nice to see that Lille was not in the hat for the round of 16 because they could have faced either Real Madrid or the other team. It could have been a lot worse for the team if they had finished second in the group.
Lille were the group winners, which most of the second-placed teams would have liked to face. Lille had a tough time domestically this season, but they have their best performances for the European competition. Canada's Jonathan David has three goals in six group games for Lille, while the U.S. international Timothy Weah has appeared in four games.
Lille are a young team with potential, but they are likely too much for a team with the experience and quality of Chelsea.
Who goes through? It's called the Chelsea.
Manchester United vs.
This is the first time that these two European giants have met in the same competition, and it marks a new beginning for both clubs.
Diego Simeone's team are 13 points behind leaders Real Madrid after a slow start to the season. On matchday six, they snatched qualification from the bottom of Group B with a win against Porto.
If they perform to their best, Luis Suarez, Joao Felix, andAntoine Griezmann are capable of hurting United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked as United's manager in November and replaced by a new man. They have goals from the likes of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes, but they are vulnerable in defence.
This tie could come down to the two goalkeepers, Atleti's Jan Oblak and United's David de Gea, the latter of whom will face his old club for the first time since moving to Old United in 2011. United should win a close tie if Rangnick can get them to click.
Who goes through? Manchester United.
The game is between Villarreal and Juventus.
Unai Emery's team have developed a habit of leaving it late to win, despite booking their place in the round of 16 with a weather- delayed victory against Atalanta.
Their place in the group stages of the competition is due to their performances in the group stages, as well as their victory over Manchester United in the Europa League final. Although they are inconsistent, Emery's well-organised Villarreal will be a tough opponent for a team that has struggled for form this season.
Play.
After their win over Malmo, is it possible that they are good enough to win the European Championship?
In the group stage, they were beaten by Chelsea and struggled to win against other teams.
This will be a hard-fought tie, and the way that Villarreal have been able to get the job done in Europe, this one could go all the way to penalties.
Who goes through? The city of Villarreal.
Inter Milan is playing a game against a team from England.
The group winners can expect a harder time against Inter after they made it six wins out of six.
Inter have more quality than AC, and they will take advantage of any opportunities that they can. Lautaro and Edin will be a threat up front for Inter, and they have experience in the middle with Nicolo Barella, Arturo Vidal, and Marcelo Brozovic. One of the best keepers in Europe is Samir Handanovic.
Inter could make life difficult for the Reds if they have injuries ahead of the tie. It would be difficult to predict an Inter win at this stage.
It would be a shock if they failed to make it through, because they have so much depth.
Who goes through? It'sLiverpool.
Real Madrid vs. Paris Saint-Germain.
It's the tie that neither club wanted, but it's the price that Mauricio Pochettino's Paris Saint-Germain had to pay after finishing runners-up in Group A behind Manchester City. One of the favorites for the competition will crash out if the two clubs don't accept elimination at the round of 16.
It's a clash between Real's winning mentality and the experience of players like Benzema and Modric, against a team that's relying on the experience of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe. Carlo Ancelotti is going to face his old team, while Angel di Maria, Keylor Navas, and Ramos are going to face the club where they previously won the trophy.
The last time these teams met in Paris, Paris Saint-Germain won all three of their games, and they will need a victory to take Madrid to the second leg. Both sides have weaknesses that can be exploited and this one is close to being called. It's a case of which team is in the best form by the time the game comes around, but at this stage, the attacking depth of Paris Saint-Germain makes them favorites.
Who goes through? Paris Saint-Germain.
