After seeing a mass exodus following Lincoln Riley's shocking departure for USC, Oklahoma's recruiting is finally starting to stabilizing.

Nick Evers, a 4-star quarterback, said on Monday that he would attend Oklahoma.
The 10th-ranked quarterback in the 2022 class is Evers. Oklahoma and Florida, both going through coaching changes, were considered the top candidates to land one of the top quarterbacks in this class.

As a senior at Flower Mount High School, Evers threw for 2,361 yards and 19 touchdown against eight interceptions, while adding 648 yards and 14 scores on the ground. While his passing accuracy took a dip as a senior, Evers flashed more of a dual-threat ability that could make him capable of competing for a starting job early in his tenure in Norman.

It's possible that he also explores his options, since Spencer Rattler was lost to the transfer portal. Oklahoma could lose both of their quarterbacks who made starts in 2021. Malachi Nelson, who followed Riley to USC, also lost his commitment to the Sooners.

Oklahoma will have Williams, Evers, and others on their quarterback depth chart next season. Venables, who spent the last decade as an assistant under Dabo Swinney at Clemson, is returning to his hometown of Oklahoma to make sure Williams stays around.
