Sony’s new PS5 faceplates come in black and colorful options

Sony is going to make its own PS5 covers. The PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition console covers will be available in a variety of colors, including black, red, pink, blue, and purple. The black and red PS5 console covers will be released in January in most markets where the PS5 is sold, with the other colors to follow in the first half of 2022.

The new covers are designed to match the colors of the controllers. The purple version of the game will be available in the UK, US, and Germany through the early access program. The purple dualsense controller will be available at other retailers.

The PS5 black cover will be available at other retailers on February 18th, and at Sony's direct online store on January 21st. The PS5 covers will be available for $54.99, and the new controller options will be $74.99.

Just weeks after the company patented its PS5 faceplates, Sony announced new console covers. Multiple third-party companies have been sued by Sony for selling black faceplates. DBrand was forced to replace its faceplates with a new design and a marketing campaign that mocked Sony's team of lawyers, after the company faced legal action from Sony.
