There are six candidates for the 2021 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.

The nominees are a diver, a boxer, a swimmer, a tennis player, and a paralympian.

Voting will be open on the show on the 19th.

Gary Lineker, Clare Balding, Gabby Logan and Alex Scott will present the awards.

The Olympics and the Paralympics will be celebrated in the programme, which was filmed at Media City.

The public can vote by phone or online on the night of the show, with full details announced during the show.

Other awards to be announced include Young Sports Personality of the Year, Team and Coach of the Year, World Sport Star of the Year, Lifetime Achievement and Unsung Hero.
