Quarterback Bo Nix walks away from Auburn football, announces plans to transfer as graduate

Bo Nix, the starting quarterback for the past three seasons, announced on social media Sunday that he plans to leave for a graduate transfer.

The former SEC Freshman of the Year, Nix, announced his decision in a video message.

After breaking his ankle in the Iron Bowl, the Tigers' defensive end missed the last two games of the season.

Bo, the son of a former quarterback, signed with the Tigers under Malzahn, who is now at Central Florida.

In the season opener, Nix started and won. 11 states. He went on to lead the team to a 9-4 record. Alabama plays in the Iron Bowl.

At auburn, Nix was not able to find consistency. He was prone to turnovers. He threw 12 touchdown and 7 interception in 2020.

Bryan Harsin was hired as Malzahn's replacement.

Under Harsin, Nix threw 11 touchdown and three interceptions. He ran for four scores. The offense was up and down, regardless of who was under center, as the team finished 6/6, rooding in the SEC. They will play Houston in the bowl game.

TJ Finley is the most experienced quarterback in auburn. In the memorable 24-22 loss to Alabama last month, Finley was 17-of-26 for 137 yards with two touchdown and one interception.
