The long-awaited Sex and The City remake aired Thursday. The death of Noth's character in the first episode quickly went viral, and Peloton jumped into defense mode. The company issued a statement saying that they were not aware of how the bike would be used in the show. Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum, a preventative cardiologist and member of the Health & Wellness Advisory Council, reassured that riding the bike could have extended Big's life. The stationary bike had nothing to do with Big's death, according to Michael Patrick King.
There was aContra.
Carrie Bradshaw isn't the only one who isn't in the clear with Big's death. Bradshaw, portrayed by Sarah Jessica Parker, didn't immediately call for help when she found Big, and viewers have taken to social media to express their outrage.
A year ago, Peloton was riding a viral moment. The at- home workout equipment has become a must-have, and its instructors have become celebrities in their own right, including one popular instructor, who competed on the season of Dancing With The Stars. Despite the cycling company's young age, fitness companies like i Fit, Temple, and SoulCycle have been clamoring to catch up to the control of Peloton. Since businesses began opening up again after closing, the stock of the company decreased. It dropped 18% last month.
The number is big.
2.3 million people. As of August, Peloton has a number of subscribers.
Surprise fact.
This isn't the first time a Peloton appearance has gotten the company in trouble. The company's Christmas ad went crazy in 2019. The clip in which a woman works out for her partner after he gifts her a Peloton was compared to a horror movie.
The character in Sex And The City had a fatal heart attack.
The showrunner said that Peloton had nothing to do with the death of the major character.
