Expect a basic version to start.

You might have expected that one of the best-known modes in the series would be coming to Infinite sooner. As Windows Central notes, Brian Jarrard has confirmed that a dedicated Slayer playlist is coming as part of an update on December 14th. This will be a basic mode, rather than the variant 343 that the developers wanted to release after the holidays.

Three options that include Fiesta, FFA and Tactical Slayer are included in the Slayer playlist. The December 14th update will remove or ease the requirements for existing challenges, while adding more to accompany the new playlists. The new challenge category is based on player score and is only an initial step towards true performance-based experience points.

Fans still waiting for features like campaign co-op or Forge will not be satisfied by this addition. 343 is eager to court those enthusiasts as quickly as possible, even if it means stripping out some extras.
