Sonny Styles will sign with Ohio State on Wednesday in the early signing period, after reclassifying from the 2023 class to the 2022 class.

Styles was a five-star recruit and committed to Ohio State.

He was the top-ranked safety in the class and he is a 6-foot-4, 215-pound safety. He was the top recruit in the state of Ohio and will be joining the Buckeyes a year earlier than anticipated.

He is not the first recruit to reclassify for the Buckeyes, as Ohio State coach Ryan Day had quarterback Ewers reclassify from the 2022 class to 2021. Ewers entered the transfer portal after announcing his intentions to transfer.

Styles is the highest-ranked Ohio State commit as a five-star, but if Ewers stayed in the class, he would have been the highest-ranked. The class gives Ohio State 12 commitments.
