In the summer, I think that Stockholm is anunderappreciated destination. We haven't seen much service from full service airlines to Stockholm in the past few years. The summer of 2022, will be different.
Delta Air Lines has a new route.
Delta will be launching a new daily flight between New York and Stockholm. Between June 1 and October 28, 2022, the service will operate.
The New York to Stockholm flight is departing at 7:30PM.
The flight from Sweden to New York is departing at 11:30AM.
The flight is blocked at 8 hours and 40 minutes. The flight will be operated by a large plane. Extra legroom is included in 35 of the economy class seats.
The business class of Delta.
This is a service restart from Delta, which dates back to the pre-pandemic era. Delta used a Boeing 757 to fly to Stockholm. This will be the first time in five years that the route will be operated, and it will also be a higher capacity flight.
In the summer, it's awesome to visit Stockholm.
There is a service in Stockholm in 2022.
Delta will be the only airline flying between the US and Sweden. United will operate a daily flight between Newark and Stockholm, but it will be a smaller Boeing 757.
The Boeing 757 will be flying to Sweden.
This summer, there will be flights from Stockholm to Chicago and Newark. Most of the carrier's long haul service has been consolidated in Copenhagen, while the airline used to have more flights out of Stockholm.
Finnair has set up a base there, which is more interesting than the capacity from Stockholm. The airline flies from Sweden to Los Angeles, Miami, and New York. The Los Angeles and New York routes have been extended through the summer. Finnair does not have long haul flying prospects out of Helsinki, given that Asia is largely closed.
Finnair is flying A350s from Sweden to the US.
The airline discontinued long haul flights, but did operate some trans-Atlantic flights. In the summer of 2022, Norse Atlantic Airways will start low cost flights to the US from Norway.
It seems like we will get a lot of capacity to Stockholm this summer with the choice of four full service airlines.
The bottom line.
The seasonal flight between New York and Stockholm will be reintroduced in 2022, five years after it was last flown. The flight will use a Boeing 767, so it will have a good amount of capacity.
This summer, there are flights on Star Alliance, oneworld, and SkyTeam. The long days in Northern Europe are legendary.
