Kate McKinnon returns to 'SNL' in a Fauci-led cold open that shreds the Cuomos

Kate is back.

The Saturday Night Live star's antics took center stage immediately in a cold open holiday message from Anthony Fauci. We've seen before where the good doctor brings out CDC researchers to demonstrate best practices, which they repeatedly get wrong, and the cold open turns to politics.

Pete Davidson and Andrew Dismukes play the Cuomo brothers, who warn that they lost their jobs because of Communism. Not quite, but sure. Two members of the GOP's Gun-toting Troll Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives want to link our struggles to communism for some reason.

Aidy Bryant took a strong stance on Ted Cruz. It almost sounds like a cry for help when she says, "If you're sick of seeing me, imagine how sick I am of being me." Bryant brings her comedy chops to the Texas Senator's un serious antics, reminding us that Cruz is terrible in the way he operates.

You know, your typical indictment of political buffoonery on SNL. Good times.
