A Carnival cruise passenger fell overboard near the Mexican coast and has still not been found, the US Coast Guard says

The US Coast Guard said that a woman fell from a Carnival Cruise Line ship early Saturday.
The woman went over the side of the Carnival Miracle ship in the middle of the night.

Josh Zufelt told NBC News that passengers were notified of the situation shortly afterwards. The ship was almost at a standstill by 3.30 a.m., and the crew launched a lifeboat.
The Mexican Navy and the US Coast Guard are trying to locate a woman.
Carnival Cruise Line did not reply immediately.
The ship left Long Beach Cruise Terminal on Thursday for a trip to Ensenada. It was supposed to return on Saturday, but was delayed to Sunday.
Carnival Cruise Line advised guests of an incident involving one of their guests from the balcony of their statesroom this morning. Our thoughts are with the guest and her family.

Carnival launched its first cruise from the US in July, after the Pandemic halted operations. The company said in a second-quarter update that bookings were higher than in the previous year.
