The discussions about this will probably start with "cancel culture" but we should talk about the bigger picture. I don't like airports being named after people.
Since Las Vegas is a city with only one major international airport, why can't we just call it Las Vegas International Airport?
It is one thing to name an airport after someone who is popular with a lot of people, but it is another thing to name an airport after a politician who is unpopular with a lot of people.
Is it really a rabbit hole to think that partisan commissions will decide in favor of one politician over another?
I can appreciate that Reid has a better legacy than McCarran, but I wish we could just stop naming airports after people. That is just me.
