The San Diego Padres infielder fell in the Dominican Republic but is doing well, his father said.

The Padres star's father said that he was in perfect condition.

The elder Tatis said that his son had fallen off a motorcycle, but that was not true.

He said the incident happened in San Pedro de Macoris province in the eastern part of the Dominican Republic.

He finished third in the National League Most Valuable Player voting. He led the NL with 42 homers in 130 games, batting.282 with 97 RBIs and 25 stolen bases. He had two trips to the injured list with left shoulder issues.

He signed a 14-year contract with the Padres earlier in the year.
