Apple Is Rolling Out a Manual Firmware Updater for AirPods

Air Pod owners know that Apple's wireless headphones can have problems just like any other piece of technology. There is no manual way to update the devices, so it can be difficult to fix them. That will change early next week.

The leaker revealed that Apple was releasing a tool to help resolve problems with the devices. When it is available, the latest software for the AirPods is supposed to be downloaded promptly, but that doesn't always happen. The internal Apple memo describing the tool was obtained by MacRumors.

Don't get excited. This doesn't mean you'll be able to fix your AirPods at home when they malfunction.

The tool will only be available to Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers. There is no indication that Apple will change its mind about not making it available to users. The outlet stated that the updater will be available to stores and providers early next week.
