Stephen Curry says that the pursuit of Ray Allen's all-time 3-point record is not on his mind as he sits on the precipice of earning one of the bigger records in basketball.

Curry insisted as much after his lackluster shooting performance in Saturday's loss to the 76ers, as he sits just seven 3-pointers from passing Allen.

Curry said that he played the same way in the last couple games, going just 3-for-14 from beyond the line. I have to make shots and understand that the opposition won't want that to happen on their floor. I think for the most part try to keep it out of my mind and just play basketball and take the shots I normally do.

It's an all-time NBA record, and it's been standing for 10, 11 years, so I appreciate the attention on it, and it will happen when it happens. You have to keep trying to win games.

Curry is now 35-for-104 from the field and 27-for-72 from beyond the arc over the past six games. Warriors coach Steve Kerr said that the reason Curry struggled on Saturday night was due to the fact that the 76ers' swingman was so good on Curry that he didn't have enough room to operate.

"I give him credit," Kerr said. I thought he was great at his job. He's a rare combination of length and intelligence and he did a great job on Steph.

It was a defensive performance by Thybulle that made a difference inside the locker room.

"It was amazing," the center said. I think he has a chance to win defensive player of the year because he is the best perimeter defender in the league.

Kerr and the Warriors were quick to praise the defense of the 76ers, but they also acknowledged that they didn't get many open looks.

Curry said he missed three or four. When you have a defender like that that is running you around you are very careful about the shots you get because their game plan is to take away good looks. They were flying around. I bet you 40 of the 48 threes we got were really good looks. Everyone, not just me. It's difficult to win games if you only shoot 25%. We have to stick with the program and how we play basketball.

With all the extra energy in the building surrounding the potential of Curry breaking the record, Thybulle was just trying to focus on doing his job.

"There's no secrets to guarding people like that," he said. You have to be willing to get scored on and play really hard. He's going to make some spectacular plays and you have to be able to play through that and not let his success take you on a roller coaster.

The Warriors have to decide if they will play Curry in Indianapolis and New York on Monday and Tuesday because he has played in all but one game this season. There will be two games in Boston and Toronto at the end of the week. Curry dodged the question about sitting at some point.

Curry said he always wanted to play. It's understanding the situation and the big picture. Reassessment after every game how your body feels. I don't want to give too much away, but you have things that you're doing regular maintenance on, and we'll make the right decision, so we'll know where we are throughout the season.

Curry didn't say whether he would play in the games. He said that they would make the right decision.

As the Warriors decide on the schedule they want to take with Curry, forward Draymond Green noted that the talk of the 3-point record is not something that is weighing on the group as it continues the rest of this five-game east coast swing.

"I think it is hanging over the world," Green said. I think we all want to see it. If you're asking if it's affecting the team, no.
